D-day has finally come!

We had a great reception this morning at Waterford City Hall, when we were meet by Lord Mayor of Waterford John Halligan, Brendan Kennelly (TD)  and other members of Waterford City Council. We were fortunate enough to have a Garda escort out of Waterford City which also helped to increase the size of  Gearoid, Eoghan,John and Ronan’s ever inflating heads! Along with its advantages the escort also posed a challenge to the team as John lead the way to ‘out cycle’ the Gardaí on motorcycles…. 20 mins later regreted that decision as the lactic acid crept into their legs. But help was on the way in the form of Rosslare Harbour where the team rested for an hour before saying their goodbyes to parents and siblings  (including me) and driving through the golden/rusted gates of the ‘Oscar Wilde’ one of Irish Ferries ‘cruiseliners’.
